In New Zealand a holiday home can often be referred to as a bach (pronounced 'Batch'). Our Kiwi Bach has extensive views over Lake Taupo and is located in quiet, beautiful Acacia Bay just 10 minutes drive into Taupo central. It's situated only 200m from a fresh, lovely swimming bay and lake edge walk. The deck is perfect for alfresco dining while enjoying the extensive lake views and surrounding nature and bird life. If you want to go no further than Acacia Bay, it has all you need for an  enjoyable break; boat ramps, dairy, bar and restaurant, playground for the children, fly fishing, tennis court and park all within walking distance. 

The vibrant town of Taupo is located on New Zealand's volcanic "Central Plateau".

The Lake Taupo region known as the "Central Plateau" is located in the Central North Island and displays some of New Zealand's finest examples of mountain wilderness, fresh water streams and geothermal wonders. Our unique feature is the magnificent Lake Taupo, the largest fresh water lake in Australasia, created by the world's largest volcanic eruption in 181 AD. This water paradise offers sailing, kayaking, skiing and trout fishing.

Besides the great lake there is an endless variety of activities suitable for all ages and abilities. Shop till you drop, walk or bike the numerous subalpine / alpine tracks, scare yourself witless on an outdoor thrill seeking adventure, hit a ball at one of Taupo's many renown golf courses, soak in mineral pools both man made and natural after a day skiing on Mount Ruapehu, dine at one of Taupo's many bars & restaurants. The list is endless. 

This idyllic part of New Zealand has something for every lifestyle and budget.  

Use Kiwi Bach as a base to travel further - we are only an one hour drive to Rotorua and an hour & half drive to the Hawkes Bay region, producer of great wine and home of Napier, the Art Deco capital of the world.

Kiwi Bach is the ideal place for people wanting to self cater and can accommodate up to eight guests in three bedrooms. Children are welcome.
